In The News reports that Jaws, the metal-mouthed 7ft 2” henchmen who appeared in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker—played by actor Richard Keil, has been voted the greatest ever James Bond character in a new poll.
The poll conducted on HMV.com and social networking site getcloser.com is meant to tie in with the DVD and Blu-ray release of Quantum of Solace yesterday [the 23rd] in the UK and today [the 24th] in the USA, the poll asked participants to vote for their favorite Bond film character besides 007 himself.

Richard Kiel’s Jaws walked away with nearly a third (30%) of the 4,900 votes.
“We all have our favorite Bond characters, but you can see why so many of us go for Jaws,” said HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo.
“Aside from his incredible physical presence, he’s got a great name and gimmick, and his stainless steel teeth are so wonderfully villainous.
“Ultimately, however, I think we like him because in the end he turns good—guy.”
Gadget inventor Q (Quartermaster) head of Research & Development for British Intelligence reigned in second in the poll; the character is probably most famously portrayed by Desmond Llewellyn took 16% of the popular vote. Oddjob, Goldfingers bowler—hatted henchmen took third in the poll, with 11% of the vote. Rounding out the top five were M with 11% and Miss Moneypenny with 9% of the vote.
Fans were also asked to vote for their favorite Bond theme song. Nearly a quarter (23%) chose Paul McCartney and Wings Live And Let Die theme tune, ahead of Shirley Bassey, who came in at two and three with Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever respectively.
Finally, fans were asked to vote for their favorite James Bond actor. Sean Connery took the cake with nearly half the popular vote (45%), ahead of most recent Daniel Craig who received 22% and Pierce Brosnan who took 15%.
